Thank you folks for the Good Wishes and as a further thank you, I saw this Beauty today for the first time in 40 years, but sadly I pressed the shutter about a second too late. Britannia Class 70013 Oliver Cromwell and when I last saw it, I actually rode on the footplate that 40 years ago, when in Bressingham Gardens, Near Diss, Norfolk.

On Tuesday, I visited the North Norfolk Railway in hope of seeing one elusive loco, I last saw in Swindon Museum back in 1976 and since back on Main Line duties for Specials. That loco is the GWR's City of Truro and reported to be the very first steam loco to attain 100mph.. Upon getting there, I discovered it was yet to arrive, despite me being informed it would already be there and until next month. However, I wasn't too disappointed with what I actually rode behind, being Ring Haw that was undergoing repair last time I saw it, and then an N7 as seen below approaching Weybourne, which gave me the best journey on the line that day. Following my very enjoyable day, I made my way home and on the way, I saw a small white van bearing flashing orange lights coming towards me and bearing a notice saying 'LARGE LOAD APPROACHING. PLEASE SLOW DOWN.' and then a low-loader behind it with.......................... 'City of Truro' on the trailer, so I did get to see it after all. That will not be my last time if I can help it, as I intend going back again and this time to travel behind it.

I haven't given up on seeing Truro yet, but if you go to the Exhibition page of www.wmrc.weebly.com then you will see why I haven't been around for a couple of days, along with a photo (Mugshot) of me on there.

Last weekend I went to Grantham for a two-day Model Railway Exhibition with Hungate Bridge and it was truly Brilliant. Next weekend, we were booked to take it to another two-day event and around the same distance, but the Hosts tried to get out of paying our expenses as agreed, so now we have cancelled our attendance there, leaving them a Big hole to fill at short notice, IF they can get anybody to do it for free?

That must be a disappointment mikkel, I don't know what the normal expenses arrangements there would be between clubs, and obviously they should not go back on their agreement, I assume you have nothing in writing?
Presumably they were hoping that you would put on a show for nothing and your reward would be that there would be no charge for the use of their premises?
Is there no accepted practice for this situation?

Every Exhibition I have attended, the Host club pay travelling expenses and we have it in writing what it would cost us and they originally agreed to pay it, then tried to worm their way out. I even got a telephone call after I had cancelled the hire of the van, asking me to reconsider, but as soon as I said we had cancelled the van, the phone line went dead. Their loss, as we have already got another booking for May, and 2011.

Thanks for the explanation mikkel, I guess you will not be getting involved with that club again! Definately not. They will not even get as much as an invite to attend ours, or a few others now I have said why we aren't going after all. What the offending club are unaware of, is that I have several contacts from other clubs and so passed the word round.

When I told the members last night, they all thanked me for pulling out and they will now avoid attending their Exhibitions full-stop.
