Oh, just the right size container for my share of the jelly beans, I just love them.
Thanks for the "sizing", Robert.

A really nice bit of carving Robert, love the rustic handle ideal for holding a few sweeties next to the computer Alfie

There should be law against abuse of craftsman's tools. I was handed this rather neglected 1" wood chisel the other day which appears to have been used as a paint stirrer, a screwdriver, and probable a lever to remove tight paint pot covers. A couple of hours work with various cleaning tools and an initial sharping has given me a very usable chisel to my collection. i327.photobucket.com/albums/k473/capney/The%20Second/chiseltwosmall.jpg [/img]

Well done Robert, nice job! Agree there should be a law against it, but I was a toolmaker for 21 years so I would say that! ;D

An A+.... that will do nicely, thank you. I started on another small bowl yesterday, but it seems my trigger finger may well still be given me problems which is a shame as I was hoping the exercise would do it some good. I shall try again this afternoon. I have a few projects I would like to start. I managed to save some wood from my apple tree that I am drying in the garage that I shall have a go at as long as it dries ok.

Not a rabbits head, but one never knows, it may end up as one! Its actually supposed to be a stylized bird. In the mean time I spotted this small piece of mahogany that was shouting out to carved into a quirky little spoon. Its surprising how well it sits in the hand. I have the mirrored piece that may end up as a left handed copy. Need a little finishing but was a fun little project to get my hand back in again.

Oh I thought that was the ears, so must be the tail! ;D I still think it would make a great rabbit. You certainly seem to collect a good supply of lovely pieces of hardwood. Nice work Robert!

I read a lot about carving and the basic design was from one of those books. It has taken many hours of carving and finishing to get to that stage. I still have some smallish pieces of that wood left for the next project whatever that may be. It keeps me busy and my hands and fingers moving. I also have some small pieces of apple wood that I may try some chip carving on. One mistake with chip carving and the whole piece is ruined. Need to practise first.
