Lovely to hear from you again Victoria, and the Hydrangea is fantastic, don't think I have seen a purple one before but I have seen the unusual blue in a neighbours garden. The mini rose is stunning!

Like DAG, I don't think I've seen a purple Hydrangea before, it is lovely and the petals even look curly. Yellow roses are my favourite, so I have to love your beautiful mini. Looking forward to seeing the changes in the garden. Last but not least, lovely to see you here again. xx

Thanks guys .. sometimes you just need a break away from things.
I have never seen a purple Hydrangea before ... hence that I have one! I have about 8 flower heads on this one. There are white ones also now ... bit inspid in my books.
Hate to disappoint you .. but the mini rose is pale orange ... the sunlight though the petals makes it looks yellowish. Orange is my favourite colour rose, my Oranges & Lemons avatar which is my exquisite one here and also my Sunseeker .. there is a bit change with it in the garden now .. all to come in due course ...
Ace .. just keep up with the competition with you on GC ....

We have been going through sunshine and showers for the past few days so have been using the time to organise my photos on the computer and got the removal of the Lantana hedge sorted. Here is how it was before, the length being just over 3 meters, height up to 2 meters and width 1,5 meters. It was difficult to keep tidy requiring trimming almost weekly through the summer. It is a very prickly hedge with sharp leaves and thorny branches which went every which way direction. To make matters worse I had become allergic to it when cutting it and would get a rash. So, it was time to go. Now it looks so bare ... we put marble chips over the soil to make it look clean, have the Yucca pots and some summer bedding pots, plus two Myoporos to bush out and make a new evergreen hedge. which the Lantana was not. Even Chere Khan is wondering where it has gone ... This is the view from the other side and now the Sunseeker rose is uncovered having been hidden in the Lantana and I have tied it back to the stump of the Poinsettia which has been cut back to meter. We are now willing everything to grow at record speed!

Hi Victoria. You have a botanical marvel out there. You are so lucky. I really like that hydrangea and Chere Khan does indeed look a bit concerned. Many thanks for sharing.

I understand your reasoning and I am sure that with your weather and greenfingers that it will soon grow at record speed Victoria! Had to laugh at Chere Khan, who does indeed look concerned! ;D For sharing!

Agree with Dag Victoria I'm sure it won't be long before you have the gap filled with some other of your beautiful flowers
Poor Chere Khan he does look a bit confused

Thanks guys ... all will come good in the end ... Well, the rain has arrived yet again so I have spent a wee bit of time on the computer uploading some photos from earlier .... My super double Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is single in it's first blooms this year ... And my dreaded Passiflora caerulea (which I cannot get rid of come hell or high water) has opened it's first blooms ... albeit they are pretty ..

I thought I had replied to this but obviously not, Sis, must have just been in an e. Sorry about that. Yes, it does look bare and naked but I know that it won't look like that for long, the way everything grows with the aid of your green thumb. Will you keep the Myoporos trimmed up off the ground so that the lovely rocks can still be seen? Being a rock fan, I do love the show they make now. Love the new pics, especially the second one with the Solanum making a pretty coloured background to set the pale Passiflora off. The last shot is a very good close-up.
