Sorry, I missed the gorgeous Sunseeker roses, a beautiful show. The border has filled out a treat and softens the balustrad, must look good from the other side as well. Ooohh!!! the Jacaranda is soooo lovely and it would make a great painting. I just love the colours and the sun-tinged edged of the blooms, Well caught, Sis. (it would go nicely down in the Looking Up section too ) No, the Jacarandas don't last that long here, none of the flowering trees seem to. There is a yellow one (forgotten the name, one of you did ID it for me on GC a couple of years ago) that blooms first, followed by the bluey-purple Jacaranda (single blossoms as opposed to the big clusters in Portugal) and now the red or red-orangy Flamboyants. They all bloom first and then get the leaves. We were saying that we should have one of each ....... ;D I picked up some old seed pods from two different Flamboyants yesterday, got some seeds out of them but they don't look too good and some of them had started to sprout and then dried out. Going to plant them tomorrow and see if anything comes of them. Next time we are over at the kids and I see the people across the road with the two Flamboyants, I'll ask if I can have some of the pods I saw laying on the front lawn.

Haven't visited here for about a month so thought I'd pop into my garden. The Jacarandas are still blooming, that must be nearly two months now ... Here's a few more from this past week .... Double pink Oleander which has a sweet smell in the sun ... The Brugmansia suaveolens opening ... Pandorea jasminoides (Bower of Beauty) on the kitchen patio which has a slight powdery scent ... Podranea ricasoliana (Pink Trumpet Vine) (cousin of the above) which is up and over the deck and all the way across and halfway to the kitchen door on an overhead trellis (I'd guess 10 meters) ... A part of the sand garden with Viburnum to the left, Tecoma stans to the right, Cannas in front of an uncommon shrub Bougainvillea ...

Oh Pete, I try ... or is that trying? We will get less and less as the summer progresses.
Thanks David ... I do SO wish you and Linda could have come here in May, so so beautiful and warm ... but it was not to be but we enjoyed our wet/damp/coolish weather, didn't we? Much love always to you both. xx

We did indeed Victoria, but the wet/damp/coolish weather, was a lot warmer and sunnier than it was back here in England in that January, so it was still a wonderful experience for us both. Thank you! xx

How lovely everything is, Sis! The pink Oleander and the Pink Trumpet Vine pics against the blue sky are particularly good.

Lovely, Sis. I do like the peach Canna, if I see one here, I think I'll get it.
We have 3 of the simple red ones, very plain when compared to the large orange and yellow splotched ones out front. Good thing the red ones are out back. ;D I've got a few pics of them on the camera, don't know if I'll get around to looking at them before we get back to Germany.

That's a pretty Agapanthus, Sis, have never seen a striped one before.
I've had Gloxinias on several occasions, but, of course, only as a house plant. The petals looks so nice and velvety like. Do they last well outside?
