Hi all as we are slowly wishing for Spring and of course warmer, dryer weather to come I wonder what (if any) garden projects you intend to conquer this year?
Bob and I have a little catching up to do what with getting our allotments last year.We have a decking to do on the back garden and new path, also on the side garden we have a deck walkway to make, I would also like to re-do the front garden but this might have to wait until next year.
As you can see I'm getting really itchy feet to start something and going slightly crazy trying to find DIY jobs in the house just to calm the buzz I keep getting!
So guys what are your plans?

In my mind I am going to do a complete garden make-over, but in reality I doubt if I can be surgically removed from this computer! ;D
I still have a lot of work to do in the loft this year, so maybe not much in the garden in the short term but will keep an open mind.

Alfie has a new project for the spring and summer, as well as the garden although he doesn;t know it yet  Guess who wants the whole house redecorating ;D He just loves wallpaper and paint ;D ;D ;D |

Letitia, there are some things that women are definitely better at, and I think that they certainly do a much better job at decorating!
I am sure Alfie would agree! ;D ;D

Hi Helofadigger Sorry for the hijack and I will show female superiority and take the blame from a poor weak male (It was him really ) Actually Alfie and I have quite alot of plans for our garden this year. We want to totally revamp our front garden which is about 700 sq yds( sorry I don't do metres) with new borders and flower beds new shrubs a seat and table outside the dinning room window so we can sit outside drinking coffee. If all our plans are to be carried out its going to take more than one year. We also have another greenhouse coming soon so that will keep Alfie busy. We are going to convert our old touring caravan into a potting shed. If we get it done we'll put up some pics. |

Ummmm........letitia that project is certainly a big one, that area of garden is about 5 times as much as mine!
With all those other jobs as well, it all sounds like a lot of work for Alfie, so he will not have the time to do the decorating anyway! ;D

Don't worry Dag there'll still be big lawns,I have a sit on lawn mower so it's not to bad.  When I was working it was easier to just cut the grass than to keep flower beds weed free.We're going to put in annuals so we can weed kill in the spring before planting and again in the autumn. Hopefully after that the perenials and shrubs can go in. As for the decorating Ann worked in DIY and decorating shops for years and she actually likes hanging wallpaper and emulsioning so it's not to bad. and she loves working with seedlings and stuff like that. Lol guys winter just seems to bring out that need to do 'something' I mean I always go crazy (nothing odd about that) throughout winter doing DIY jobs and yes you are quite correct guys us girls are far better than you at decorating etc. something to do with multi-tasking. I have just finished the hallway, downstairs loo, kitchen and I have just got to get the tiles for the bathroom and I'll be starting that soon enough! Even when I'm watching telly in the evenings with Bob I can not just sit down and watch I have to do some knitting or patchwork also I have to read myself to sleep every night....maybe I'm a little hyper do you think?  ;D.Hel.xxx. |

I can't just sit and watch tv unless it is something really interesting to me. They say our bodies were not meant to stay still for more than 20 minutes otherwise you can get circulation problems so that is more healthy than being hyper!
I will start a section for knitting in Hobbies as Mrs.DAG is doing some at the moment so you could always post up your work there anytime Helen!

Ann reads and watches the tv at the same time. Johnnie and I tested her to see if she knew what was both in her book and on the telly, she passed with flying colours.I Married a very strange woman.  She also reads every night before going to sleep. One book she can't read in bed is The Queen and I by Sue Townsend as it makes her have nightmares. |
