Mrs.DAG watches tv, and either knits or cross-stitches or plays with her Nintendo DS Lite. I think that most women certainly do multitask, but men make up for it in other ways................. ;D

Well I've had a busy day and have project number one well under way. When they put in our first woodburning stove they made a tiled hearth for it to stand on. This was ok for that heater but when we got our new one the hearth was too big for it, so I've taken a foot ( 30cm ) off the front of it and faced the edges of it with wood. About 4 months ago we went to a car boot sale and found a beautiful black and brass fender and I've trimmed it to the right size to fit the hearth. I'll post some pics when I get it finished.

Poor Phil you can't win can you sweetie? asthma playing up in winter I just hate to imagine how you suffer in summer out and about. All my knitting so far these last few months have been hats although I just use oddments of wool to make them with but they are ideal for the lottie!
Oh Alfie I bet it looks wonderful I can't wait to see the pictures.
Regarding Car Boots I'm a fanatic of them I drag poor Bob off to them whenever the weather is good. I truly do see treasure in someone else's junk and I don't feel so bad destroying something to make something else and I love a good barter! Hel.xxx.

Well, Alfie is a little marvel I'm really pleased with his efforts. I knew that wallpaper would look good there when I bought it several years ago ;D Helen we both love car boot sales and we've picked up some real bargains. :)Alfie has bought some power tool, a Bosch drill for £2.50, a welder for £8, an electric hand saw for about £4. For a while he kept buying coffee makers as he found brand new ones for £1 each. He bought a Food Processor for £10 with a multitude of bits which I use all the time. I think it must be our age as a lot of my friends like them as well

Lol Letitia I don't think it's an 'age' thing Bob and I have always be very careful with our pennies so car boots have become almost like our very own hardware store, we have been hooked for 20 years now! I like playing guess the price with friends and family it's a blast they always get the price wrong. I do so love a bargain in fact that really should be our surname! Hel.xxx.

I was beginning to feel sorry for poor Alfie but now I think that even though he was reduced for quick sale (how many years ago?), he must have been a good bargain after all as he is still fresh and able to do all the wallpapering, chopping the firewood, etc. I think we should stop talking behind his back while he is off getting all these jobs done. ;D He might happen by and hear us

Don't worry Kedi I know what she's like after 37 years I'm pretty used to her. I would have traded her in for a newer model but for the fact she makes lovely roast dinners Mind you she has been known to service the car (change the oil and the plugs) if I've been busy doing other things. I tell everyone that the hymns we had at our wedding were "Fight the Good Fight" and " For Those in Peril on the Sea" ;D ;D Whilst we were kneeling at the altar everyone thought Ann was crying but she was laughing as I had pointed out the Vicars shoes which had been repaired so many times the stitching looked like a rail map of GB Alfie
