Thanks Robert, I also have runner beans this year as the next door neighbour gave me some but rather late in the season so they are not ready yet. Also the black fly are determined to try and ruin them, so fingers crossed. I don't have a veg. plot as such so this year I am trying these in my old cloches that I no longer use and leaving the lids up and growing them up the wall/screen. Audra, I have started a new thread for my greenhouse details as you requested: naturalworld.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=mevegs&thread=3915&page=1

You can have tomato plants that are all plant and not many tomatoes or the other way around, which would you have?

Delicious as always. I'm not going to show my lettuce, too embarrassing.

Looking great there Dag I agree, I like it when I have more tomatoes on the vines than I do plant. Our tomato plants are taller than I am now and covered in tomatoes.

A load of Gartenperle tomatoes rippening up at the same time, yesterday I picked 124 tomatoes which includes the Sungold as well.

Just picked the first Tomatoberries, pic is about actual size. First impressions, the skins are very thick but surprisingly pleasant and not a bit chewy. The taste seemed about the same as our Gartenperle and therefore is a good all round tomato. Not as sweet as the Sungold. This is only the first fruits though which sometimes are misleading.

They look really tasty, DAG, and pretty as a picture on the blue towel.

As an experiment this year I have decided to let the tops of the Sungold tomato plants carry on instead of nipping them out at about 5 feet or so and to do this in my greenhouse meant training them horizontally once they hit the roof. They are still going, most of the tomatoes have been harvested now that are below eye level but by letting the plants go horizontal I still have plenty more to come. In fact I think they are growing better on a horizontal stem than a vertical one. I shall work even further on this idea next year.
