Phew.. you do not realise how that makes me feel because you are probable the second person in the world that has made My Branny bread. Spread the word... and the butter

I will certainly spread the word Robert!
I am a bit sad now as it has all gone! This afternoon I had 2 thin slices which I popped into the microwave for 20 seconds as I had just come in from the rain and cold, but didn't put any butter on it as it is so moist anyway. Very nice!
Arney made up for it by having hers cold and twice as much butter on it! ;D
We used a different fruit mix which had cranberries in it as well and a heaped spoonful of mixed spice which made it delightful.

Just thinking of a possible variation on this recipe Robert, of using only apples for the fruit and cinnamon spice, might make a nice piece of apple cake? The head chief said that I would need to put more flour in it.

The head chief said that I would need to put more flour in it. That sounds wonderful and I cant wait for your report I agree that more flour is needed to offset the extra moisture in the apple. I can smell it from here. Its bread baking day for me tomorrow. Just one cob and a Rosemary and cheese cob..

Well !!! Thank you Robert, that's a new family favourite Ann made this today and we both enjoyed it. She used a fruit mix containing sultanas, currants, raisins dried apricots, dried pineapple and cherries. The only slight problem is Ann's diabetes but we're going to try it again tomorrow using sweetener in place of sugar and a different fruit mix. I'll let you know how it works. Alfie

Looks great Alfie, and looks like you made it in a nice deep container. Arney said great job buttering it to the edges.........but you missed a bit! ;D No Letitia must have done it as no man would spread it like that right to the edges!

It was me that buttered it Dag and Ann was standing over me with a big stick to make sure I got it right ;D ;D I once got sick of her always saying to butter her bread to the edges so I buttered round the edges of the crusts as well so she couldn't get hold of it without getting butter all over her fingers ( she didn't complain ) ;D Tell Arney she's as bad as Ann ;D Will let you know how tomorrows effort turns out. Alfie
