I took these while over at the kids house this afternoon. Unfortunately, I forgot to make a note of the names. I'll edit them in another time. My daughter-in-law is lucky with them and gets them to bloom every year.

Great close-up, Dan. It looks like a little animal inside it, perhaps a crab or a spider.
Sorry, no idea where you can get them over there. A lot of the big DIY shops have a garden department here, and just last week when I was in one, I saw that they had no end of orchids.
Gad, what a price for the one you saw, wyldeflower!

I saw these two in the Tropic House in our Botanical Garden yesterday. Both the camera and my specs went all foggy in there -

I enjoyed all these. I'm not so lucky with orchids. This summer is the luckiest I've been in years. I had to move mine outdoors, because they were all dying inside.

Pur-ty, Scotkat, and a nice lot of blooms on it too. Good price, even before the reduction.
My white one like this, is just budding out again, for the third time. Hope you are as lucky with yours. My purple one is still blooming.

"Orchids thrive on neglect, Scotkat!" Really, no kidding. Just don't give them too much water. A little every 2 - 3 weeks is plenty, and, of course, they need less in the winter. Neither Dil nor I have ever given them fertilizer. Dil gave me these tips when she and Kedi Junior gave me my first one several years ago. This is how she tends to hers and they bloom every year. She has hers in an east-facing window all year round. I put mine in an east-facing window too, but at the moment, they have been in a west-facing one for about 6 months.
