This is the usual pickup mailbox outside of a very small old-fashioned post office in the countryside - Another nicely painted one, this time with pineapples - Not actually a fancy mailbox, but I thought this looked nice as well, a porpoise between two regular mailboxes -

Thanks Linda, and I still have some more to upload. Have also seen some others out and around, but either went by them too quickly to catch or they were on the other side of the road. But I'll get them!!!

A mailbox house over a small flower planter - This was obviously a hand-wrought ironwork one that the owners had had specially made, a real work of art - A black barn - A bulldogs head on top of a combination mail- and newspaper box -

Why can't the English think of things like this? I think we need to start the trend?

Why can't everyone have such nice mailboxes? But then I guess we all wouldn't think twice about them if that was the case, they would be just run-of-the-mill.
Still, not everyone has them over here and I sure don't find them all in one road. I'm lucky if I find two in one road, but so often just the usual plain ones.
Mikkel, wait till you see the really super one I found this afternoon - now, that is one for you! You'll have to build one like it, it'll stop the traffic on your road!

Here it is Mikkel, am sure you'll love it! Just a pity that the wheels seem to be painted on to a wooden base and the chimney and cow-catcher too, instead of being of metal. The other train mailbox, several pages back, was at least metal, but needing a good derusting and a paint job.
