Never mind mikkel, I think if we achieved everything we set out to do, we would soon get bored! So we always have something to aim at!

My biggest aim in life, I have been trying to achieve since I was about 10, or 11 and at Junior School, but beaten EVERY time. That is to visit Sidney & Melbourne, Australia since very first hearing of them and upon applying to Emigrate on the £10 scheme, ended up in hospital with Peritonitus the first time, my now Ex-wife against it and (Deliberately?) pregnant the second, then Not being able to save enough the third time.
Everything happens for a reason, but I have achieved goals I never expected since, and helped to make history in 1982 and Extremely proud to have been part of it.

A cousin of mine went to Australia on the £10 scheme with 4 of her children and never regretted it. Sorry to hear that you kept being hindered in one way or the other, Mikkel, I am sure you would have loved it Down Under.
May I ask what you did in 1982 please?

I have No proof it is true, but from what I was told at the time, I helped to make History in September 1982, by going to Berlin with my Territorial Unit, AS a Unit, for the first time since the Berlin Airlift after WW2. If I could get it confirmed, one way or the other, I would be Very grateful.
I came out on the British Military Train, but sadly, it was hauled by a Diesel locomotive and Not steam, but I Did see steam on the way and 3 times before crossing the then border of East & West.

When next in a Newsagents, take a sneaky look at the Latest issue of Steam Railway and page 74 in particular, where there is an absolutely Cracking picture of A4 Bittern on its way to Norwich last month that I had to miss. My mate filmed it, at the same time as the guy standing next to him, took this same photo. I Love it and sure wish I HAD been there to get one as well.

Found it... It was in the Rheidol Valley, Aberystwyth while we visited the butterfly farm there. It appears to be the The Vale of Rheidol steam railway. Is that familiar?

Take a look at wmrc.weebly.com where you might find a Garden model of Rheidol in G Scale section and the Dovecote Railway.

I finally got to see Tornado last week and videod it, but can't get it to be seen on here just yet. As per usual, one guy deliberately stood directly in front hoping to get better pictures than me, while in the end, I got the better of him, by being in front of Him as it passed, so He couldn't get any decent shots. What I did get in the end is something I am pleased with.
