Yours Truly and at the controls of A4 Sir Nigel Gresley when in Cambridge. Sorry for the size, but when I relocate the original, I will resize it.

Mikkel, I love the pic. We have a friend up in Lincs - he is steam train mad and as I remember, has some film of them.
To think my brothers played with replica's in the 50's and then, it was just normal - now, those replica's would be worth some money I guess

We also go to most of the traction engine rallies and he he we must take the engine numbers down every last one. Once I got soo fed up we were looking for this engine on a plinth Tony told me to keep a look out and then we went past it, I never told him until we drove two miles so we had to turn back just to get the number. All our holidays are centered round trains, old buses and traction engines, steam rollers.
On these trips I must say we do visit the garden centers however I can tell you sometimes there is an engine on a plinth in these garden centers.
There is a method in his madness for steam engines. I have had to put up with this for 29 years ha ha. He has slowed down now because he is not well. In a way I feel sad about this.

I actually got to see and photograph one on Saturday last. The camera has roll-film in and just started, so pictures delayed. When I tried to use my digital to get one of it, some total nincompoop stood directly in front of me and I Swore at him in no uncertain terms. I then realised there was a little lad the other side of the fence and I immediately apologised to his father who admitted he would have sworn as well.

A4 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley as seen today at Prickwillow, between Ely and Thetford. Just as it approached, so the driver - Bless him - gave the four of us waiting a treat with the whistle.

Oh excellent mikkel, can I use a cropped version of that pic for the next front page update? Always wanted the Hornby 00 version of Sir Nigel Gresley when I was a lad, but parents couldn't afford it!

You sure can Dag and with my compliments. Re you wanting a model of it, I have a Wrenn model of Mallard and it has been seen on local television. In fact after the holiday, I must run it at 'The Club' again. Now to make you envious. At the top of page 1, there is a tiny picture and I have just found and re-scanned it in, leaving it so people can see it as it should be.

I found out last night that 6100 Royal Scot is to make its inaugral run after refurbishment, from Kings Cross to Norwich, via Cambridge in February, so yours truly will be going where I got Sir Nigel Gresley photo.

Enjoy when the time comes, Mikkel, and don't forget your camera. Hope the weather plays along too. I don't go out without my camera these days. No matter what the weather, I intend being there to see, photograph and then display it on here for everybody to see. If I can get one as good as SNG was, then I will be more than happy.

I can't remember the year exactly, but here is 4472 Flying Scotsman passing Corby Glen in Lincolnshire, heading north on ECML prior to the OHL going up. Note the enthusiasts along the embankment. They were sensible enough NOT to go trackside as some were to the right of this shot and seen below. Less than a minute after 4472 had passed, this was the scene and the HST was travelling at some speed, but the people near the tracks made NO attempt to get out of the way. ** The planned Royal Scot run for 22nd has sadly been cancelled due to the loco not being ready in time.**

Pity the Royal Scot run was cancelled, but it was nice that you put some other photos up for us to enjoy instead.
There was a good turnout, just look at the all crossing the tracks in the second photo!

Mikkel, interesting shots you have there, I seem to remember the Flying Scotsman in a tv documentary some years ago, and it was touring Australia, if that was right, is it still out there? It makes you sick to see people on the tracks like that, you can understand it with animals but humans are supposed to have some intelligence!
