- red peaches!!! Even if some fall off, that is normal, DAG. It really is an amazing tree, fruit on a not yet three-year old tree! Does the other big one have fruit as well? Don't suppose the potted ones do yet, although they bloomed nicely, too.

The other one does have a few on as well but as for the 2 in containers, there are only 2 peaches on one and none on the other tree so far.

I have a few also Dag, although not as many as I was expecting. Pollination is the problem I guess.

Looks like both Ceanothus's are competing with each other now and almost in full flower.

That is a wonderful shot of the garden, DAG. Yes, the Ceanothus do seem to be competing with each other and how lucky that you have not just one of these beauties, but two! The Red Robin in the middle is a dream as well, all covered with blooms after being planted just last year! The rockery remake is showing very good progress, looking forward to seeing more of it later in the year when everything gets settled. I think you must stop telling me that nothing grows in the clay soil of your garden as I won't believe you any more.

This Johnson's Blue fared quite well in the storm as it is more protected from the wind by the workshop beyond.

A glorious show, DAG! After loosing our Love-in-the-Mist years ago, I never managed to get it to grow again. The Johnson's Blue is lovely enough to appear in a magazine.

Oh, DAG, that is lovely ... I love Love in a Mist ... it grows wild here but only the blue and you have all three colours ... stunning!
Good question, Pete ...

Re the last photo - this is what I mean about the best way to keep the weeds from growing - plant things to look like this!

Thank you pete, Victoria and kedi, the buckets are only there because they are full of stone chippings and earth that came out of the rockery area as I am doing a make over of it and t'other half wanted to get rid of the pond as she was fed up with the algie problem. So I am now making it all rockery.
I used to have Hostas parked along there as it is in permanent shade but I just can't keep up with the snails that we now have and after about 15 years of fighting both them and the slugs I have given up. So I guess the answer is that is a convenient temporary dumping area for works in progress! ;D
What is always so disappointing is that the vivid blue of the Johnson's Blue is never recaptured by camera and the same goes for the Aubretia as well.

That inspired me to take the camera out this morning, the sun has gone in temporarily and I decided to have another look at this area which I call the little fairy garden as under the Ceanothus it does seem like that at times. It occured to me this morning that Arney does like to have her fairies around the garden so at great risk I nicked a couple and put them in here So I got in here, following the path (damage) that Eric & Eddy made to get some pics and this one is especially for you Victoria! kedi, might also put this in looking up?
