1103, thats one heck of a lot of tomatoes. Hope Lily got some ;D I've not counted ours but we weigh them and so far we've had 35lb ( don't do kgs) They're all in the greenhouse and various varieties. Ann likes salads made with the different colours so we have yellow, orange, red and one called Black Cherry, it's bigger than a cherry tomato and not really black but very tasty. We've made ketchup, soup and frozen puree for cooking as well. You can tell I married a woman who enjoys cooking, good job I like my food Here are the two biggest I've had so far, they weigh just over three quarters of a pound between them ( Alicante ) Alfie

I am a compulsive tomato counter as I pick them and therefore don't waste any time counting them afterwards. I just simply keep a tally each day. Most years I have grown 2 to 3,000 tomatoes and end up with a lot in the freezer so it don't seem many to me this year.
Most are only large marble sized but they fit perfectly in our George Foreman grilling machine as they are so are handy and no matter what you use them for you don't need to cut them up.
35 lbs. sounds a lot to me Alfie, but I know you have 2 large greenhouses. I would like to know how your automatic watering system has performed as after this year I just have to get something like that to cure the irregular watering problem to cover holidays?

The 35lb of tomatoes is from 14 plants Dag thats two and a half pounds per plant to date, each time we collect them we make a note of the weight. We have only had two cherry tomato plants this year with the remainder being plants like moneymaker etc and as you can see from the photos they have produced some huge fruits I grew my plants in a trench this year instead of grow bags and I think the combination of this the well rotted chicken manure and the automatic watering system has produced the best crop I have ever had, I let each plant have six trusses and it looks like most will ripen. I think the auto watering system is brilliant as even when we were away the plants got regular watering and with them being grown in trenches on dull days any excess water just drains away. I have had non of the problems associated with irregular watering like splitting or blossom end rot this year so I would recomend you get one for next year Dag There are eight plants on this photo, this was taken after I had collected the tomatoes in the bowl (5lb) Alfie

Remember you will only get a present from Santa if your a good boy Dag and with all the ladies on here keeping an eye on you you might be better to go and buy one ;D ;D. Just noticed that I had posted the same photo twice so have changed it. Will post some pics of how I set up the watering system later. Alfie

Alfie, your greenhouse looks quite a large one. Is it a 6'x10'? and do let us know your watering system please. I grew beef toms this year and cherry toms.

All those lovely tomatoes!!! You both (Alfie and DAG) seem to have no end of luck with growing them.
I like Ann's idea of making a salad with various colours. I bet it looks very appetizing and is too.

Well, that didn't waste time growing up and blooming!!! How tall is it already?
Wait till it forms a clump, you'll have a really lovely show of it then.

That plant is exactly 1 metre tall overall. The other 3 are only half that size and no flowers.

Wow!!! what a show after just - is it really only two years from stone? It is the one near the porch steps, I think that is the living room window frame, isn't it? With all those buds, you are sure to get fruit that stays on to maturity this year. Arney, make sure that you have some empty jars to make jam and preserves. You'll have to take some more pics when it is in full flower, DAG. for sharing.
