Just a Little JoyI have a big backyard that I share with God’s finer creations. Objects of rare and ardent beauty lent to me to tend and till. Oh so good to grab the earth and pack the earthworm’s mud, to be His gardens keeper. So I say, all cheer the fancy daffodils, regard the much maligned dandelion and beware the fetching rose in His name. Yes. . . Yes, I praise and offer thanks for His art and crafts weaving rainbows in seasonal displays of bud and bloom in my rich backyard. Where the squirrels chatter and the beetles bury, the mantis prays and the crow caws just a little joy. ~jeannerené My yard..back, that is... All taken within the last four weeks... some taken today. ....a couple of older ones... last year... I think... .j.

A nice assortment of lovely photos, Jeanne. Like Wyldeflower, the second pic took my fancy too, and I am another fan of weathered tree roots, I have two, unfortunately one is now falling apart.
Is the fifth one an aralia?
What are the three unfolding red leaves taken against the back of another leaf? A very interesting composition, well done.
I love the iris with the water drops! I do love such pictures and Wyldeflower is very good at them too.
It's nice that you showed us a part of your garden that few people do - the storage part with the flower pots.

thanks guys,
The red unfolding leaves are a Chinese red maple, and the background is a cali lily. Yes the fifth one down is an aralia of some sort. It's one of my favorites in my pond area.

Ah, another super combination of pics, well done, Jeanne!
The wire netting and frames is a good one. I think seeing such photos might encourage us to follow suit and show a few out-of-the-ordinary pics, too. Great idea.
I can't make up my mind if I know what the top one is or not. Perhaps you could write the name of flowers and plants under them, as not everyone knows what they are. Thanks! x
Is the third picture the back of a fern frond?

Magnificent pic of where you live, holeysmokes.
The trees in your pic - are they the Chinese Maple / Blossom Trees? We have them over in Germany, our neighbour has one that I can see from our kitchen window, and they are called Ornamental (Chinese or Japanese) Cherry Trees. Whatever, they are eye-catchers when in bloom!

The chinese blossom trees are stunning, especially lined up in a row as they are it makes a great picture.
My strawberries are doing well this year and I've planted more. I will post them in fruits and veggies.
I have to admit that I am really bad with remembering names of all that I plant, so what I don't list I'm sorry. I'll have to pay more attention to the tags.
Kedigato... the flower going to seed is an aneomie. I have several colors planted. They are so easy to care for and they come back year after year.
..a few more from a couple of days ago...
I have these all over my yard ... but I don't know their name
wagon with succulents and gladiola shoots
Red Camillia
Nasturitium .. these grow like weeds ...

It is like high summer in your garden already, Jeanne. Everything is so lovely and colourful, a real pleasure to see, thanks for sharing.
Those varied-coloured flowers are so pretty. Are the leaves evergreen?
I love those large iris. We used to have quite a few in different colours, but they have gone off over the last several years. They need to be replanted, I must think to do it this year.
What a clever idea using the litte waggon to put plants in!
