Dug my 1st spuds today. The ones in the polytunnel mind you,the ones outside are way behind. I think I could have dug some up earlier as some are getting a bit too big. 90 days from planting to digging.

Some cream on the strawberries and a dash of garlic on lightly fried courgettes.
Oh, it all look like straight out of a picture book, Dan!
My courgettes are just now producing flowers and the one pot of hanging strawberries are turning red (all 5 of them!), but I won't show them to you.

Started digging spuds up this week and unearthed an amusing one. Reminded me of a character from the Viz Comic ,Buster Gonad..

he he he! So funny!
I bought a bag from the farm once and one looked like a person, with head, shoulders and legs.
Anyone ever here about that sacred one - supposed to have Mary Magdeline's face on it?

I just had another look at your allotment diary, Dan. It's amazing how fast everything grows, not just one veggie, but all of them.
Excuse me for being so nosey, but since there is so much of everything, do you work on it full time and sell the excess, or what?
Still got my fingers crossed for the giant prize-winning onions.
Love your little frogs! I don't know what happened to ours this year, either something ate them or they just died. Usually we have them swarming all over the lawn and Mr K can't mow it for weeks.
Your photos are all good. I don't have an expensive one either but it takes decent pics (if I set it right!) and was a good one to learn with.

I only really have an excess of Lettuce as everything else I can either freeze or it stores well. I would say I only spend about 2-3 hrs a week on it,It's not as big as it might appear. Just a 24x14 ft polytunnel and 2 raised beds 40x15 ft and 15x10 ft and a few fruit bushes and trees ,so not that much area at all. As I have managed in years gone by to really get all the weeds under controll I don't seem to get that many so that cuts down on time too. And as It's on my own land and not on an allotment site I don't get the weed seeds of other lazy plot holders blowing my way either.

It is amazing how much veg you can grow in a small space Dan and it seems like you are making the best use of all your space. The reason I went into allotment gardening is because my hubby took seriously ill with Chrons disease and he has to have organic veg. besides I love being in the fresh air does my Asthma good, also made a lot of friends. My back garden borders my allotment so dont have far to go. Sometimes on a good day I sit with friends and have a cup of tea. I used to grow veg. in my back garden but allotment gardening is new to me.

Thanks for answering my nosey question, Dan. It all seems so big, much bigger than you say it is, and you have so many different veggies growing. I guess it must have a lot to do with good planning of what to grow and where.
Only 2-3 hours a week? Now you must be kidding me!
I know what you mean about the neighbours weeds trying to settle in your own garden. One of our neighbours can't keep the ground elder in check and suddenly we have it all over the one part again - great big juicy green leaves, why can't our plants grow like that???
How much longer do you have with the giant onion? I just had another peek at it in your allotment, looks good! Fingers still crossed.
