All looks fine Robert, do you have a mount cutter that cuts at 45 deg. or do you have to use that craft knife and hold it at 45 deg?

I have a Jakar mount cutter that can cut at 90 or 45. It slots into a 60cm aluminium rule to ensure accuracy. It takes a bit of practise but does a fine job on the 45. Im finding the most difficult part is getting the window size right. So far every one is a different size. There must be an easy way to calculate the size required. I shall work on it.

Mine is the same in principle and I remember when I first used it that it was so complicated working out the size from the instructions, but I found that if I simply marked out in pencil the size I wanted on the back of the board to be cut and then cut to the lines it worked fine. You soon have to replace the blades though as they get blunt fairly quickly and then they tear instead of cutting which of course wastes the mount board so chuck the blade at the first signs.

That looks really lovely, Robert. From what you have both said, and from looking at it, you must be extremely accurate and have patience.
