No, didn't try to catch it, DAG, it ran faster than I can now. The first several pics were blurry when it ran right in front of the window. This pic was taken when it stopped about 10 meters further along. Lunch - - oh, no, never. I don't like any kind of "weird" meats, and I have tasted most of them, yuk! Heidschnucker is on the menu this coming Sunday, but only for Peter, PV and Natalie, I have a wee portion of mincemeat in the freezer for myself. See the below link what Heidschnucke is. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heidschnucke

Kedi, can I join you in mincemeat please? I've eaten kangaroo, ostrich, crocodile and most game birds but lamb or mutton absolutely no way My Dad was a shepherd and having seen and smelled them in sickness and health for the first 19 years of my life there is no chance of me eating them . Lunch is quite safe in the garden as I'm not certain I could dress him properly if I caught him ;D

Letitia, when I read what you wrote in the Weather thread, I just knew that the reason why you won't eat lamb or mutton was because of your Dad being a shepherd. Now you have confirmed it. We had a tin of this Heidschnucker once before. The neighbour (Günter) worked in the Ministry as an outsider for a while and this is what they get to eat, only the best. Anyway, they liked it so they (he and Susanne) gave us tin of it as Peter likes things like this and his sister enjoyed it as well. When I put it in the pot to warm it up (ready cooked and seasoned in the tin), the sauce looked and smelled OK at first so I tried a wee bit, and that was the end of it for me. I thought it tasted like a whole sheep with wool and all would taste and smell if it was cooked. I nearly had to run for the toilet! Peter was very angry that I said that and forbid me to repeat it in front of his sister. We have been given another tin so Peter, PV and Natalie can have it and I'll gladly share my mincemeat with you, Ann. You can get the weird meats in some shops now but I've never bought any. You see alligator meat a lot in Florida. A friend of mine here bought ostrich once and she and her hubby said it was OK, but don't think they bought it again. ;D ;D

We only bought the Kangaroo Crocodile and Ostrich once although there was a stall at the local fair giving tastes of Ostrich burger. It was ok but not something I'd buy normally. The Kangaroo was the same but the crocodile was awful tasted a bit like fishy chicken .

Oh, yuk, how awful. No, I shall not try anything like this even if it is being given away as free trials. Thanks for the warning.
