Tip from P A Smith Newsletter - Don't throw out your paper egg cartons. They are perfect for starting seeds. You can leave the seedlings in the egg carton when you plant because the paper will biodegrade.

I used to do that Sis till I gave up on seeds and decided to buy 'instant garden plants' instead. I used to use the cherry tomato containers (the plastic ones with lids) as mini greenhouses as well.

After I posted this up last evening, I remembered that I used the tip that someone gave me, I think it was Tamarine, to use empty toilet rolls, and I did for the beans for two years running.
Someone else then said about making your own DIY rolls using old newspapers, actually showed pictures. Wasn't that you, Robert? We should actually have all of these tips all in one place.

Yes, that was it and thanks for posting it up again, Robert. It's a good way to use up old newspapers and saves money buying peat ones. BTW, you do have a nice voice and accent.
