I saw this beautiful and unusual shrub in the kids neighbourhood. The berries remind me of Daphne mezereum, which is poisonous but the plants I know from Germany look different than this amazing one.

A more common species grown in gardens is Callicarpa bodinieri var. giraldii 'Profusion' although your need a couple of plants to get a good display of those amazing purple berries =]
