This pretty turtle wandered through the garden yesterday morning. They can grow to 7.5 inches in length, this one was about 6 inches, and live to over 100 years!
It seems they used to be very popular pets, but now they are no longer permitted to be sold commercially. So they now usually wander freely through woods, fields and gardens, but occasionally soak themselves in puddles or ponds.
