Alfie, we waited until just after 4pm, guess you must have missed the plane. So I ate your share for you. ;D ;D BTW, if any of you make this recipe, I have altered the amount of ginger. When my cousin made them here, she also put more in than the recipe called for. I mean, if they are ginger cookies, then they should really taste of ginger, correct? Hope you like them, Robert. Oh, mine were not nice and hard like the bought ones are, they had a "soft crispiness".

That sounds good to me but I will not be tempted to eat biscuits right now while trying to lose weight........well, not most of the time anyway! ;D

Are biscuits the same thing over there as they are here? Those sound more like a ginger snap cookie to me but then over here biscuits usually aren't sweet, are made with buttermilk and served with chicken or topped with sausage gravy.

Biscuits are cookies in England, Audra. What you know as biscuits would be soft bread rolls in England.
Yes, they are ginger snap cookies.

Really? Wow. LOL, I can just imagine the look on the face of the waiter if I ordered biscuits and gravy over there.
So if our biscuits are soft bread rolls, then what do they call yeast rolls? Because the two are very different textures and flavors.

Well, I guess just rolls. As far as I know, all (?) of the bread (rolls) over here, in England and Germany, are made with yeast. If I am wrong, please would someone correct me. This Buttermilk recipe - naturalworld.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cake&thread=703&page=1#3477 - is an American one and I don't know of anyone who knows it over here. Yes, the waiter would look at you strangly if you ordered biscuits and gravy over here. ;D ;D
