Robert, I'm putting this funny old plane in your Aircraft section, hope you don't mind. I originally posted it in Trucks & Such - naturalworld.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=hobby&action=display&thread=2829&page=3 - but thought it should go here now that we have an Aircraft section. A very old plane on show in the airport in Bremen. The pilot sat up here and looked out of this "hole" The following info about this plane was found by Capney in GC. Focke-Wulf A 16 Mowe 1924 CREW 1 PASSENGERS 4 ENGINE 1 x Siemens Sh.11 7-cylinder radial, 56kW WEIGHTS Take-off weight 970 kg / 2138 lb DIMENSIONS Wingspan 13.90 m / 45 ft 7 in Length 8.50 m /27 ft 11 in Height2.30 m / 7 ft 7 in PERFORMANCE Max. speed135 kmh / 84 mph Ceiling 2500 m / 8200 ft Range 550 km / 342 miles With the success of their earlier designs Focke and Wulf formed the Focke Wulf company in 1924and their first design was an all-wood three/four passenger airliner or light transport the A.16. First flown by Georg Wulf on 23 June 1924 at least 20 aircraft were built. The A.16 was a high-wing monoplane of conventional configuration. The wing used a thick airfoil. The pilots sat in an open cockpit above the wing while the passengers were carried in the enclosed fuselage below. The tailskid undercarriage featured large wheels mounted on each side of the fuselage. PS - I might add that "Mowe" (Möwe) means Sea Gull. Thanks Robert. xx
