about 12 or 13 years ago, a friend bought me a plant. It's grown too tall and even in a large pot is really to big for indoors. Problem is I am not sure if would survive outside. I have searched the internet for a picture of one, to no avail. I'd hate for it to die. Its has long skinny stalks and on each stork at the end, it has a kind of han d, you know an eight leafed end.
I'll try to take a pic tomorrow

Schefflera arboricola Umbrella plant A well-known houseplant popular for generations the umbrella plant is an easy plant for a bright spot. The leaflets are arranged in a whorl around the leaf stem giving the plant its common name, the number of leaflets increases as the plant ages. S. arboricola 'Variegata' has the same dark green leaves splashed with gold while 'Nora' is a relatively new cultivar which is much more compact.
Site: Bright indirect light.
Temp: Keep warm over the winter min 60°F.
Water: Water well over the summer months and less over the winter. Place in a pebble tray or mist regularly to keep up humidity
Feeding: A liquid feed every month over the growing season.
Tip: Pinching out the growing tip when the plant is young will give you a much bushier plant.
