Oh dear, very interesting pics, Sis, but do hope they don't come indoors and soon leave the garden as well.
Perhaps you could send a pic and report in to the newspaper, or at least the English one, and see what info you get back.

Dread to think what they bite like, bad enough with the small ones here when dealing with the nests and I had gloves on, but of course some get inside your gloves!

Whenever I see any ants, I tend to get a 'crush' on them. ;D ;D ;D

Victoria,
Love the pictures ... and being able to get a closer up look at these hardy workers. The second pictures is my favorite. They really are amazing.... but best they keep their amazing abilities to the out doors.

Thank you easytiger, Sis, DAG, Robert, mikkel, shadowdragon and jeanmerene. Unfortunately these are little critters we have to live with whether we like them or not! Here is an ant who woke up as a normal ant but went to a party masquerading as a 1959 Cadillac ...

Well caught, could be a candidate for 'capture the moment'. Oh yes, the big flamboyant tail fins, he he! Something tells me that you are older than 29 then?
