By golly they look good, I fancy having a go at strawberries after seeing that, next year that is.
What puts me off is that a neighbour grew them year after year and although he put nets over them, the birds still got them first by dive bombing the nets!
What protection do you use?

I use the usual fine green netting. But you are correct, they are cunning little devils and will always try to outsmart us. I found one last year trapped under a net stuggling to get out! I just covered them this morning after picking those above with no signs of the birds helping themselves......yet

I have Bob Flowerdew's book in which he says that the only way that works for him with fruit like that is to have a fruit cage. I don't really have room for that as it would be in view all the time.....keep us posted!

Oh, they do look delicious, Robert. Such lovely large fruit and no bruises like you often get on store-bought ones.

Those are lovely pictures! Sunshine in a pretty red wrapper.
We have been eating our strawberries for almost a month now. I should have taken pics but they are being consumed as fast as they ripen. Between us strawberrry loving adults and the children, the birds don't stand a chance.
