Stonehenge

I'm sorry, but I'm a Philistine. As I wandered around Stonehenge I couldn't help thinking that it would look a lot better if they covered the standing stones with chicken wire and grew some lovely clematis up them.

;D I know what you mean, it is difficult to see the beauty in those great stone megaliths, but 5,000 years of history there, wow!

It is so many years since I last saw Stonehenge, I can't remember when it actually was.

I nearly got there 2 years ago when visiting a friend in that general area but unfortunately we never got around to seeing it, must get there one day!

They certainly built their houses with plenty of ventilation in those days, and why they built it so close to that awful chainlink fencing is a mystery. ;D

Is the fencing still there, it was a few years ago.

I think they are frightened you might be able to get a good view without paying.

pete, must admit that is the kind of thing that puts me off!

I wonder if it is possible to goto Woodhenge and do the walk to Stonehenge as in the original ritual?

Shiney - I don't know whether to laugh or what! But a great picture.

I can't see the fence being taken down. When we went many years ago, it was all open and we could walk through them.

Shiney, that is too funny although I have agee with you. It definitely needs flowers to soften the hard edges of the stone.

Yes, perhaps we need a revival of the 60's flower people hippies, I am sure they would have done something with it!

I always thought that was a nice idea if only most of them hadn't have got into drugs!
