I'm not sure, Pete, but I think perhaps about 3 years old, 4 at the very most. I'll ask Peter when he gets back from skiing tomorrow. As said, it was a self-seeded one and grew in the rockery, which we are now dismantling, a bit at a time.
Years ago (before 2000) there were goats in the field out back and the owner let us have the manure out of the stall. Peter carted loads of it over and dug it into the newly made larger rockery. It was amazing, the first year after that, our Tagetes grew over waist high there. ;D Everything did well there and I assume this red peach profited from it, too.
I'll check tomorrow, but I think I am a few inches taller than the top tie is high. So the tree grew a lot quicker than I did. ;D

This replanted tree didn't produce any fruit this year, in spite of all the blossoms. However, the other one has some nice fruit on it -

Just had a look and must admit they are better than I thought. Seems only a couple of weeks ago a load got blown off by the wind and I didn't think there were many left. Might have enough to make my first jar of peach jam. ;D
When will they be ready for picking?

The first of the red peaches being harvested. Not many this year but they are bigger than usual.
