I have two large pots of Billbergia nutans which live outside here, which is why I have posted them in this section. They can live outdoors in the UK in milder areas. Although they are houseplants for many, they are exotic ... This particular pot is/was Sis's. She took a 'pup' from mine I had some 25 years ago and grew them on, then brought it down to me a couple of years ago to live outdoors.

... and I'm sure it is much happier living down there with you and the other exotics than stuck in our Wintergarten all year round.
It is looking well and happy, Sis, and the second photo is really beautiful.

The Billbergia nutans are much later this year. This first pot is yours Sis ... And this is the one from the offshoots sent me from a past GC member ...

What lovely large clumps of them, they fill the pots out completely and give a wonderful show with all the flowers. I can't believe how many flower stalks the returned one has, amazing. Obviously it is more than happy to be living down there. The other one seems to have a darker colour, or is it just the light? Whatever, I like it better than the paler one. Thanks for sharing, Sis. xx

Sis, yours has a glimmer of sun on it and the other is under the Jacaranda on the SS Baffa wall. In saying that, yours is always lighter because it does have a lighter spot. They are very late this year ... look at the photos above taken 25 January and they are in full bloom! I will take pics of these as they open ... after our storms have passed no doubt so a week or so.
