Broiled Shrimp Wrapped in Bacon This is one of those appetizers that will turn even the most disciplined diners into a glutton. And these are really easy to make so have plenty of ingredients on hand to whip up another batch when the platter is empty. Just wrap a few shrimp with bacon, sprinkle with sugar, salt and pepper and then broil them for a few minutes in the oven.
Servings: 24
Ingredients:
24 large, raw shrimp, peeled and deveined 6 pieces of bacon(Turkey bacon works too.) 1 tablespoon sugar 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes or any other seasoning that you fancy toothpicks
Instructions:
Cut each piece of bacon in half and then cut the halves lengthwise.
Wrap each shrimp with a piece of raw bacon. Skewer with a toothpick to hold the bacon in place.
Place the prepared shrimp in a large bowl, gently toss with sugar and seasoning of your choice.
Transfer the shrimp to a foil lined baking sheet.
Broil for about 5 minutes on each side.

I ate these in a Chinese restaurant a few months ago and they were delicious. So much so, that I was a glutton, as above mentioned, and must have eaten about 10 of them! ;D If you served them with a salad and some crackers or a bread roll, this would make a wonderful light lunch.
