We had no idea of the colour of the first one until several days ago, when we saw it blooming for the first time.
We don't know what the former owners thought when they planted it in the lawn directly next to the bed as it is in the way when you cut the grass. Not only is it in the wrong place, it even grows leaning over to the lawn. We were thinking about trying to transplant it, but we'll wait until the autumn now.

Fantastic, Sis, and what a lovely colour as well. You~ve said that you have difficulty with hibiscus there, but this one obviously just loves the Algarve conditions. Fingers crossed that it continues to bloom like this (or even better, is that possible?) for many years to come.

Pleased you like them Pete, Sis and DAG. I think this is easier Sis as it is hardy, goes back to the ground each year and starts afresh, whereas all the others are Rosa-sinensis and tend to attract bugs and they look very straggly till about June. The big bud on the first photo opened this morning ... and look at the number of buds following ... I just counted and there are currently 47 buds on it ...

Oh, you have the lovely hardy ones, Sis. I particularly like the purpley blue one. I had a double pink standard but gave it to Mick as I didn't fancy a bare stick in a pot for months. Our Lidl in Silves has a row of them where the trollies park and there is a row of them from Lidl toward the park on the main road, all standard double pink.

We've had them for years. Rosi gave us some young shoots and they grow taller every year. They are now up to the second floor roof!

Just lovely, Sis. The yellow one is like one we planted at the kids house in Florida, you mentioned that at one time as well. I think peach-coloured ones are my favourite though.
