They eat all sort of bugs. You often see the white ones (they show up better) in the cow pastures with the black cows. They poke around to get the insects that the cattle stir up when they graze, and sometimes even fly up on the cows backs to look for snacks.

I often joke that each black cow has its own personal white ibis, sometimes even two or more.

Peter says that they take care of the lawn, aerating it and getting rid of pests. I don't think they'd like the weather we have over in north Europe, Alfie, but it would be lovely to have some of them.

I am wondering if this is the same single Ibis that visits our garden and some others nearby. They usually come in pairs or trios, sometimes even troops, as you don't often see one all by itself. Anyway, it was wandering around our back garden again a couple of days ago -
