i used to make pecan pie when i lived in the usa its lovely here is recipe going to make some for xmas.
pecan pie
step one
2 cups of pecans in microwave for one minute take out and mix around put back for another minute then take out and cut each pecans in half.
pecan pie crust
this recipe is enough for 2 pecan base pies
2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
6 tablespoons butter not unsalted
6 tablespoons shortning in america they use crisco but here in uk use stork margarine
6 to 8 tablespoons ice water
warm the butter in the microwave until it is soft but not melted
mix in a bowl
2cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
6 tablespoons butter
6 tablespoons of crisco shortning or stork margarine in uk
6 to 9 tablesppons ice water
mix it all together form your dough then wrap it in plastic wrap and pop in fridge for 20 mins while your preparing pecan pie ingredients
pecan ingredients
1 cup of white corn syrup here in uk use golden syrup
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs
2 cups roasted pecans
put the butter in micro till completely melted
preheat oven to 350f
mix together
1 cup syrup
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
mix slightly beat the 3 eggs dont over beat them
add egg mixture to the batter and stir
take pie dough out of fridge and roll to about 1/8th of an inch think then put it in pie dish and pinch along the edges
pour pecan pie filling into pie shells then sprinkle 2 cups pf your pecans on top
put in oven 350f for 1 hour to an hour and 10 minutes.
