Here are some of the flowers in our Florida garden. The former owners were obviously keen on hibiscus as there are lots of them in all sizes and types. I don't know the names of some of the other flowers. I'll edit them in if and when I do find out. I think this one is called a Peruvian Petunia. It can grow quite tall, about 150cm, and can be invasive - but it is lovely when you see a great clump of it. Some sort of Pink - Unknown - Three of the Hibiscus -

Looking south in back garden with view of caged pool - Looking east in back garden towards a park and games area. There is a road on the other side of the white wall (about 4' high) and so we are trying to plant things that will hide the road. Some of the wall has flowering shrubs along it, but other parts are bare. We just planted these 3 Podocarpus the other day. They are an evergreen and grow fairly quickly and dense.

Thanks Linda and DAG. No, certainly don't want a summerhouse in this climate, rather stay indoors in the cool. ;D
I was thinking perhaps a small waterfall as I love the sound of them. But that will have to wait until everything else is sorted out.
The garden is a good size but looks even larger as it goes to a point, making it very long at the back. I stood almost in the end point of it to take this pic. This is a Live Oak in the left of the pic, it makes a lovely shady spot.

Hard to judge his size, he looks quite big at first glance? Well spotted though as he blends so well with the background.

It was about 8 - 9 cm big and very fat. We found it when we were trying to get the roots of an old dead hibiscus out, Peter spotted it. I took a few pics then tried to carefully pick it up to move it to safety but it jumped away and we couldn't find it again.

We have this pretty varigated shrub in the garden, the Devil's Backbone. The name comes from the the zig-zag stems.
