While out in the front garden this afternoon, I heard a noise that sounded a bit like a cat at first. I looked up in the oak tree and saw this squirrel and it was making the noise. Sometimes it sounded like a cat and then other times it made clicking sounds. It kept this up for about 5 minutes, moving up and down the trunk and looking at me, before it finally gave up and climbed up out of my sight.

What a cute fella, sounds like he was trying to attract your attention, maybe he was expecting some nuts?

I told him he had nothing to fear from us and that I would bring him something to eat. Just must keep my promise and see what is in the house, think I can only offer a handful of cereal at this time.

Another one of our American grey squirrels. This one is in the oak tree in the back garden.

Squirrels are lovely animals, we only have red ones here but the gardens in Edinburgh have lots of grey ones. There's big house not far from us and the family crest has a red squirrel on it, they used to leave a bedroom window open and put food on the bed to encourage the squirrels to go into the house. Only thing that would worry me is that they're supposed to have loads of fleas ;D ;D
