This is a very old apple tree at the bottom of the garden. It still yields a lot of fruit every year, too much for my cousins and family, so the excess is put out front with a sign for people to help themselves. The shadow of the apple tree taken from a different direction and showing the way into the hidden side garden - A view from right at the beginning - - moving up a bit - - and closer still to the lovely seating area where you can see Peter and David, probably waiting for Iris to bring them a cold drink!

It is a lovely nook, Linda, and, as you say, private. Straight ahead is their own front garden and to the left is a lane, so there is never anyone sitting on the other side of the wall.
The open door and bay window on the right is their dining room.

That is a lovely garden and looks like they have certainly made the most of it!

My cousin only did that seating area a few years ago. Up until then, it was just garden. Must say that this is so much nicer and better than going down to the bottom of the garden, behind the fish pond to the former patio.
