got this recipe off my friend lovely pie ive just made 3 today so heres the recipe.this recipe should make 2 decent sized pies i did 8 inch round fairly deep for the ingredients in middle.
2 packets of sausage meat 1 packet of cranberries 1 packet of apricots chopped. 2 apples chopped any type. sage and onion stuffing in packet. 2 onions chopped mix alltogether and add 1 egg and salt & pepper.
pastry mix
8 ozs of plain flower 6 ozs self raising flour 10 ozs of butter or margarine mix these by hand to form crumb mix then beat 1 egg and add to mix then add water to form the dough.
roll out pastry then put in tins then add mixture to the top then roll out the pastry for the tops, when pastry is on top brush with beaten egg. i cooked them on a gas mark 7 till golden brown pastry.

Oh, that is a pie with a difference and sounds yummy!
If only they had proper sausages and sausage meat over here. That is one of the things that I still miss.
I might try it with what goes by the name of sausage meat (finely ground pork) that is packaged up in sausage-like wrapping.
Still have a bit of Sage and Onion stuffing mix in the freezer - imagine! they don't have stuffing mixes over here either! I could - and have - made it up from scratch a couple of times.
Thanks for the recipe, Linda, I think that would be nice to serve on a buffet as well as a sit-down meal.

That sounds delicious linda, will have to try that, problem is 'err-in-doors' will not like all that fruit in it! Good news is ...........twice as much for me! ;D

kedi i used pork sausage meat you can use any sort of sausages, just had a piece its lovely and the pastry is real nice. dag i guess you could maybe take one fruit out i was thinking walnuts might be nice in it even mushrooms. hope you both like it, ive had it a few times at my friends ,she often makes it just love the taste its very yummy

My son Paul is a good cook and he will try anything Linda. Mind you when he is short of ingridients he pops home and raids my kitchen. He does replace them when he goes shopping.
