I saw this red moss growing on the roof of a building of our hotel in Nürnberg, Germany last week. It was obviously planted as the whole roof was covered with it and it looked very pretty.  A few days later I found this lichen growing on a tree stump next to the Ossiacher Lake in the Austrian Alps.  |

Red moss .... that I've never seen. We have green moss all the time which I love.
Great shots of the lichen ... one of Mother Earth's rather mysterious decorative accents ....
