We saw this one when we went into the Five Guys hamburger place for supper last evening. It was standing outside of the door and peering in, like he was just waiting for someone to let him in. He kept walking around and looking in. I think if someone would have offered some food, he would have tried to take it through the window. As we left, Peter gave him something, but then the eternal seagulls swooped in and grabbed most of it.

I saw a beautiful red-headed woodpecker on a walk with Tootsie this morning. I MUST remember to take my camera!! Great shots of the egret. We do have some awesome birds here (even more in the winter).

Hi figmentfan, great to see you here.
Funny you should say that you saw a red-headed woodpecker as I saw one just as I got out of the pool this afternoon. I was afraid to run in for the camera in case it flew away so just watched it looking for bugs in one of the big hibiscus, then it flew off into the big oak out back. It had a red head, a grey body, black wings and a black-and-white speckled back. Must see if I can find a pic of such on the net.
If we don't get a chance to speak before you leave on the road trip with your friend and Toots, have a super time and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.
