bought this basket with the seeds and its grown like this just in a few day, tuscan salad mix, i got it half price at wilkinsons its just a nice size for my balcony

That looks good, did they supply the soil as well as I imagine you can grow them without soil, just on wet pieces of tissue, the same as mustard, cress, mung beans etc.?
I used to grow mung beans regularly, they grow in about 4 days, I think from memory, was a long time ago.

dag the compost was supplied 4 little bags of it, but felt it wasnt enough so i added some of my own, will take pics when it grows a bit bigger, also got a herb basket but they havnt popped up yet will keep an eye on it, got it covered with a bag on balcony, will put that one in herb section. it will be nice to have my own salad mix and its about 4 different salads in there

kedi just looking at packet that came with tuscan salad theres red stemmed chicory, black kale, salad rocket, frilly green lettuce and red lettuce oooooo all my favourites i always buy in a pack. when i get pic of herbs will put them up

Be interesting to see as I have never seen, nor heard of, red-stemmed chicory or black kale.

kedi ive not had red-stemmed chicory but had black kale thats in them packets you buy at supermarkets its quite nice, when they eventually grow will take pics to let you see them fully grown

Never heard of black kale either, sounds interesting, we quite like ordinary kale, suppose it tastes the same? Will look forward to any pics Linda.

the lettuce is growing a bit bigger but will wait for pics when they are starting to show their colours as they all just pale green little leaves at the moment
