This one was on the beach - - and these ones in the shade under the evergreen trees growing in the area between the beach and the picnic area - - and flying overhead (something I hate) -

Just catching up here. I remember these Laughing Gulls on our trip to St Pete a few years back. They and the Royal Terns made quite a noise.

Yes, they are rather small, Jen, and as strongy said, rather loud.
Did you visit Holmes Beach, Strongy? It is on Anna Maria Island, to the south of St Pete.

Went for a drive down to Holmes Beach this afternoon and fed the Laughing Gulls. First of all they were just curious - - but when I threw some food, they went mad - - after that, more and more came to join the feast -

great pics kedi is that their name laughing gulls, we have small gulls similar seen them at whitley bay lighthouse but dont know the name of them

Strongy told me what they are called, and now that I know it, it does sound like they laugh. I guess yours are Laughing Gulls too.
