Korky is settling nicely in and when I am out of the room, he whistles different tunes. When I am in there, he keeps quiet, but I keep talking and whistling to him. I am sure he will be okay once he gets used to me.

Of course he will. He just needs to adjust to his new surroundings and then he will be fine.
How old is he, BTW?

From what we have learnt, he is about 8 months old. I tried to get him on my finger today, but he refused to even come near me. I will however, keep trying and feel sure that in time, he might realise I am Not going to hurt him.

Did he live somewhere else before you got him? I mean, since he is already 8 months old. If so, perhaps the former owner mistreated him and so he is wary of you now. Keep talking to him and sooner or later, he'll come to trust you.

We bought him at a Trusted Pet Store who we have been dealing with for some time and going in regularly to get the Menagerie's food, and then especially to see the birds they have to sell.
