I felt it was about time I added more than just sunrises/sunsets and railways on here, by letting you see our collection of pets. To start with, please meet Rusty our Jack Russell. Rusty nosing in the snow on 5th Feb. Rusty Sunbathing, or looking for His Valentine on 14th. He never even turned his head after I took this one.

Lovely dog, mikkel, and he seems to enjoy the snow as much as the sun.

Yes, lovely dog mikkel, looking at the first pic, reminds me exactly of our Lilly (also Jack Russell), sniffing every foot print! ;D Thanks for sharing!

This is my mate 'Raffles' and I have had this fellow about 7 years now. He does have a Very sharp beak and never been able to finger tame him despite years of trying.

This is 'Lilac Lil' or as we call her 'Lilly' our budgie of about a year now. The day we got her, so she was a Lilac colour, hence the name. We had a Green one before, but he very sadly had a massive stroke and died in my hand as I cradled him. I still miss him to this day and he's been gone about 15 months now. I can now and again get Lily on my finger, but ever since we nearly lost her as well and through mites and where she lost a Lot of her feathers, had like a crust all round her face until I got some stuff from a pet shop and with 36 hours, the crustlike stuff started dropping off and within a week, her feathers started to return and changed to the blue colour you see here. She is still somewhat nervous of me, even though I stroke her every time I open the cage to replace her millet. She does have an annoying habit at times of going down onto the bars to the end of the cage and literally doing a somersault in clinging to them, turning her body so her back is against the bars, then twists her head round and 'Pings' on one bar for up to half hour at a time and sitting near her, you feel like screaming at her to stop.

Last, but not least is our 'Goldie' the surviving goldfish and about 7 - 8 years old. I started off with about 8 in a smaller tank, then as they grew, I had this one given me and transferred them over, but most died soon after. The tank had only ever been cleaned with water, always used Anti-Stress liquid if I changed the water, which was about 3 - 4 times a year. Goldie has been alone now for about two years and grown to the size he has. The pump behind him, is about 3" wide and he is at least twice the width in length. The streaks down the glass, are caused by him 'diving' out of the water and back in again for some strange reason. I should have cleaned them off before taking the photo, but they weren't showing when I pointed the camera.

Unfortunately, they are kept in their cages, because my Partner has a phobia of birds and doesn't like them flapping their wings, but would never harm one. Sadly, Raffles I cannot get finger tame, while Lily is just becoming tamer after nearly losing her a few months ago and having to hold and treat her. I would like an aviary for them, but we haven't got the space for one.

This is my mate 'Raffles' and I have had this fellow about 7 years now. He does have a Very sharp beak and never been able to finger tame him despite years of trying. I finally got to hold my Mate Raffles in my hand this morning. Sadly, he died less than a minute later from a suspected stroke, or heart attack. I Loved him just so much, I had a job to bury him, then I threw his cage out after shopping this morning, because it hurts so much. I will be buying a new cage and another Cockatiel tomorrow though, because Rusty and Lily will be lost, the same as me. Rusty and Raffles were mates and in their own way, spoke to each other. RIP Mate.

Oh, so sorry to hear that, mikkel A new one will help you get over the loss, but Raffles will always have a special place in your heart. I'm sure that if you handle the new one right away and talk to it, it will become hand-tame.

I'm also sorry to hear your bad news Mikkle, I know what it was like when we had to have our last dog put to sleep. Hope you get a nice one tomorrow and soon get it to perch on your finger without trying to nip it off.

Friends, please meet Korky the Cockatiel taking my mate Raffles place in my life. Rusty can't understand the different whistle that Korky gives off compared to Raffles. We bought a new cage for Korky, rather than use the old one that I discovered was going rusty as well. I just hope this wasn't what Killed off my Mate Raffles, Bless Him.

Hello Korky, nice to meet you. Rusty will soon get used to the different whistle, Mikkel. No, that the old cage was going a bit rusty was not the cause of poor Raffles's death, you mustn't think that. Wishing you many years full of fun with your new pet.
