Robins

A pair (I think) this morning as they were feeding together and not fighting.

Oh, nice! I've never seen a pair here, just the one appears now and then.

I see that your snowdrops are blooming already. Ours are still coming up but showing the buds.

This afternoon while finally getting to do some serious clearing of our front garden, I decided to trim a bush up and so we could have some more light in one room. As I started to trim the bush, so I spotted what I had expected and a nest containing 3 chicks awaiting the return of their mother to feed them.

What a fantastic surprise I got when I discovered they are Robins? I got not only this photo, but another on my Mobile that I can't upload on to Photobcket and of the 3 chicks close-up, while the mother was looking for a further supply of food for them.

Until Wednesday, I had strongly believed there to be just 3 chicks in this nest, then yesterday when I managed to get a look, there were four, yet this morning and to my sheer HORROR, they had ALL gone, including the Mother and it was either a local Sparrowhawk that spotted them, the Bl**dy Jackdaws that a neighbour has SEEN tipping chicks out of nests, or it was one of 2 cats that IF I catch them in the garden again, whether back, or front, I WILL let Rusty see them off and he is FAST on his feet considering he is now about 10 years old.

Sorry to hear about the little robins Mikkel, but unfortunately in nature almost everything is something elses dinner,
