I decided to make my own very rough bird box and nail it under my gutter. To my amazement only a week after ,It was inhabited. As you can see the hole kept on getting bigger, then I saw a woodpecker with its head in it. Managed to put a piece of hard vinyl over it to deter him and he then gave up. It was infuriating taking the photos as my camera had a 1 second delay from clicking the button to the photo being taken so I actually took pictures of nothing and hoped that a second later the Blue Tit would appear. Anyway about 200 clicks later I managed to get these.

Well done Dan, about 3 years ago I bought a set of boxes, several for birds of different types, and several for insects, put them as high as possible (only have a bungalow) and not one bird or insect has used them at all!
