Lovely flowers, iska. We haven't had any Cosmea for quite some years, but I have bought a packet ready to sow this year. They are such pretty flowers and a group of them are eye-catching. Kapuzinierkresse (Nasturtium in English) is one of my favourites and I have them every year. My cousins in England had some gorgeous Zinnias in their garden when we visited them this past September. Wait till gartenzwerg sees Maximus (surely not named after The Gladiator? ). She loves them (and rubber ducks) and has a great collection of both. She has just started putting some of her photos up in the Hobbie Section. We have a Passiflora in our Wintergarten and it went mad and is growing up everywhere. Mr K is going to try to get rid of it this year. Pity as it is so beautiful but has turned out to be a plague. (Oh, it was a €1.49 one from Aldi about 3 years ago!)

Have you ever had fruits on it? You can cut it down to very small. It will survive and you can enjoy the flowers for another few years.

Yes, we've had fruits on it but they remain hollow.
As for cutting it down, that makes it grow even more and new shoots sprout up everywhere. It really is a plague now so it must go.

Thank you. No, Maximus is not named after the gladiator. It just was intuition for the poor very small man, to give him some bitof importance, after I had found him in the rubbish. But I guess his soul is cured by now.

That is just the sort of thing I would do too, Iska!
