Red Milkweed Beetle (Tetraopes tetraophthalmus) I found these colourful beetles on a small road in the Austrian Alps a few days ago. The larger and fatter one was dragging the smaller one across the road and in the last photo, you can see them disappearing down a hole on the verge.

The Red Milkweed Beetle are pretty, very colourful. The Cockchafer larvae is horrible
