Dobbies were selling them as Xmas Camelias and I was told that this was ahardy camelia .
Dr Burnside its called and was propagated from a garden in Waterford Ireland.

Looking forward to seeing it, scotkat, as I am thinking about getting one for in my still-in-the-planning woodland area.
I didn't know that they were hardy until someone told me that several weeks ago. She has various ones in her garden. I am going to visit her on Tuesday afternoon so I'll take my camera and hope that the weather allows me to get out and take some pics of hers.
She is the one who told me that there are hardy varieties and that my woodland bed would be ideal to plant one in.

I still have room in my woodland area so may plant my one there but that is in back garden and would prefer this one in front garden.
There is a camelia called Yuletide and I have tried for 2yrs and still not been able to get this one.
