I find Jigsaw Puzzles to be extremely theraputic and no matter what the picture. As well as Railways, I Love jigsaws, but spend so much time at the computer working as such, plus on forums, I rarely get time to do many now and I have somewhere in the region of 100+, with about 85% of them never done and just stored. They vary in size from 300 and up to 2,000 pieces.
As you can expect, I have railway puzzles, plus tigers - another Love of mine, scenes from Famous places including one of Southend Pier before their last fire, circular one of cats and another of birds, Spiritual ones, with some even framed and hung up on the wall.
Every time we go in to a charity shop, I look at puzzles and do like to find they are complete, while I bought one AND completed it recently, only to find 2 pieces missing. This one was of a street scene and in the 1950's showing Trams and the 50's cars. I was most certainly Not amused.

You have my sympathy there mikkel, must have been very annoying!
Yes I quite agree they are therapeutic, but as you say the computer has robbed us of time to do them! ;D

Nothing more annoying than missing pieces from jigsaw puzzles!
I used to do them a lot but as DAG says, the computer has robbed us of time to do them, and lots of other things!
I still have mine and thought it might be nice to do one again but ...............

I used love jigsaw puzzles as a child. I have thought about it recently funny enough. It can be very relaxing and seems to take the mind away from troubles.
I am just getting back into scrabble (when I find time that is)

Ooh, that is a real collectors item then!
We haven't played that in a long time, used to play it a lot though. That and Canasta. I think the computer has pushed so many other hobbies into the background.

Since Yvonne was diagnosed with this darned Cancer, I have spent more time doing jigsaw puzzles than I have in years. In the last month alone, I have done about a dozen x 1,000 piece ones, plus smaller ones. I have another 1,000 on a board behind me that I sit doing when watching a Bit of tv with Yvonne.

I don't often do jigsaw puzzles but I think they have a very good theraputic value and can help a bit with stress.

I don't often do jigsaw puzzles but I think they have a very good theraputic value and can help a bit with stress. I have always found them Very Theraputic, thank you Dag. At this moment in time, I am doing a Flying Scotsman one of 1,000 pieces and now on the Sky/Smoke/Steam, but oh boy, what a challenge this is? However, I am determined I AM going to complete it.

I have very recently completed another 1,000 piece of a dog and cats, then framed it for Yvonne's Best Mate as part of a Birthday present in a few weeks time.
Before this though, I had completed two from Southend & Leigh-on-Sea. These are now framed and on the living room wall.
