Much to my regret, this computer will Not allow me to use the new camera to upload photographs, so I have another two plans to try and one is via the laptop of the Bramley Line I have here and will connect to the Internet hopefully tomorrow and then post them on here. I tried taking the disc from the new camera and placing it in the older camera, but it just showed up as FILE ERROR on the screen. Mikkel, when you say 'this computer will not allow me to use the new camera to upload photographs' have you installed the programme that comes with the camera and also are you using the USB connection from the camera or a card reader?

Anybody using a wifi printer? I am tomorrow, all being well I shall either report back tomorrow that it was a breeze to set up, or shall need a good rant. My old Epson all in one is getting abit tired and is hard wired to the main desktop in the conservatory. We both have laptops and all three are on our wireless network. Problem is the laptops cannot be used to print. I am not even going to open the box tonight as I could do with a good nights sleep tonight.. Wish me luck.. robert

Sadly, our computer burnt out 2 parts on Sunday and a Very Good Mate fixed it for us today, saving us many pounds, and I mean Many. I sure owe him for his time and effort, despite going north and back for a some 600 miles round trip to attend his Mum's Funeral yesterday, but despite the Freezing weather, coming home to get our computer fixed for us today.

Our computer gave up last Sunday, so I am now using a borrowed machine, until ours is fixed. Plenty went wrong, with 2 parts burning out.

I have been using my Google Mail Client (instead of Outlook Express) for a couple of years at least but was surprised today when I sent an ordinary email letter out when it asked if I had an attachment to send with it. Then it explained that in the text I had written: 'I have included'...............so did I want to add an attachment? I like that, shows a bit of thought!

I needed something like this last week when I e'd Figmentfan saying I was sending her a link - and then forgot to include it! Just had the following from a friend in Texas. Must admit that I didn't know this - thought the http:// was the safe thing and can't remember ever seeing the https://. Must keep my eyes open for that in future. GOOD INFO......Just in case you didn't already know.... The Difference Between http and https Maybe you already knew this, but I thought it was important enough to send even if you already know. FIRST, MANY PEOPLE ARE UNAWARE OF **The main difference between ; and https:// is It's all about keeping you secure** HTTP stands for Hyper Text Transport Protocol, The S (big surprise)stands for "Secure". If you visit a website or webpage, and look at the address in the web browser, it will likely begin with the following: http://.
This means that the website is talking to your browser using the regular 'unsecure' language. In other words, it is possible for someone to "eavesdrop" on your computer's conversation with the website. If you fill out a form on the website, someone might see the information you send to that site. This is why you never ever enter your credit card number in an http website! But if the web address begins with https://, that basically means your computer is talking to the website in a secure code that no one can eavesdrop on.
You understand why this is so important, right?
If a website ever asks you to enter your credit card information, you should automatically look to see if the web address begins with https://. If it doesn't, there's no way you're going to enter sensitive information like a credit card number. PASS IT ON (You may save someone a lot of grief).

I regret to say I have not been visiting the forum much of late, but this is due to a now Faulty Modem that is finally being replaced next week after a phone call lasting 50 minutes to our ISP on Wednesday and God help me pay the bill for THIS call.
